WELCOME (and why I'm here) ...

Searching the Internet for "Cancer" "Dr Moon" "Korea" (over and over - always looking for something new)... led me to a few people who blogged about their loved ones (or themselves) battling cancer and opting for treatment outside of the US. Specifically, Dr. Woochul Moon in South Korea. These blogs led me to read about the Yoshihara's, Trycia, Stephen, Tye and others. I never met any of them but felt somehow connected. I thanked God for them and their families... I thanked God for finding them even though they didn't even know me. My beautiful mother is battling Stage IV lung cancer. It's possible she will be leaving for South Korea sometime next month as her treatment options here have been exhausted. I am planning to join her there for four weeks and vowed to blog about the entire experience because maybe someone out there will find me and read our story ... and I won't even know them.

For my mom...

These wings, these things on my back
they fly me where there is no wind
no pain or lonliness or possible chance
for sorrow, regret or broken wings
for you built them strong upon this back.
